Eleanor Belton (Corvallis) had six kills, two digs, three block assists and a solo block Sunday, helping Chemeketa to a five-set win against Bellevue in the Northwest Athletic Conference championship match in Tacoma, Washington.

Belton, a freshman middle blocker, had seven kills, two digs and four block assists Saturday in a four-set semifinal win against Clark.

She recorded a combined nine kills, two digs, three block assists and two solo blocks last Friday in four-set wins against Columbia Basin and Walla Walla.

Belton had five kills and two block assists Nov. 16 in the three-set tournament-opening win against Centralia.


Maddy Gravley (Santiam Christian) had three kills, two block assists and a dig Wednesday in Oregon State’s three-set home loss to UCLA.

Teammate Haylie Bennett (Philomath) added three digs and one kill.

Bennett had 12 kills, one block assist and a dig Sunday in a four-set home win against Washington State. Gravley added one kill, one block assist and one dig.

Last Friday, Gravley had 11 kills, five block assists and a dig in a five-set home win versus then-No. 10 Washington. Bennett had nine kills, two block assists and two digs.


Hadley Heck (Crescent Valley) had one dig Nov. 16 in Portland State’s four-set win against Northern Arizona in a Big Sky tournament quarterfinal in Sacramento, California.

Men’s basketball

Ben DeSaulnier (Philomath) had 21 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals Saturday in Southern Oregon’s 89-83 win against Montana State-Northern at the Oregon Tech Classic in Klamath Falls.

Last Friday, he had 11 points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in a 79-70 tournament win against William Jessup.


Riley Davis (Philomath) had 12 points, two rebounds, two steals and an assist last Friday in Linn-Benton’s 95-92 win at Tacoma (Washington).

Teammate Trey Ecker (Philomath) added 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.


Cal Stueve (Philomath) had six points, one assist and one block Sunday in Oregon Tech’s 86-59 loss at Portland.


J.D. Lasswell (Corvallis) made four catches for 79 yards — including a 46-yarder — Saturday in Linfield’s 27-13 home win against Hardin-Simmons in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs in McMinnville.

Teammate Will Heck (Crescent Valley) started at left guard, helping the Wildcats outgain the Cowboys in yardage, 414-195.

This Saturday in Belton, Texas, Linfield gets a rematch with top-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor, the only team to defeat the Wildcats this season. Mary Hardin-Baylor defeated host Linfield, 24-3, on Sept. 16.

Women’s basketball

Jessica Sexson (Crescent Valley) had 10 points and four assists Tuesday in Eastern Oregon’s 84-70 exhibition loss at Central Washington in Ellensburg.

She had 16 points (shooting 7 of 8), two rebounds, three assists and five steals Nov. 15 in a 73-64 home win against Whitman in La Grande.


Leslie Robinson (Corvallis) had two points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal Sunday in a 67-56 home loss to Georgia Tech in Princeton, New Jersey.

Robinson had 16 points, five rebounds, seven assists and a block Nov. 16 in an 85-83 win at Seton Hall in South Orange, New Jersey.


Grace Corbin (Corvallis) had two points, two rebounds and a steal last Friday in Southern Oregon’s 82-65 win against Simpson in the Oregon Tech Classic in Klamath Falls.
