SILVERDALE, Wash. - The first four Corvallis batters scored in the first inning to help the Knights to an early lead in an 8-1 West Coast Collegiate Baseball League win over Kitsap on Thursday.
The Knights duplicated the first-inning feat in the ninth to break the game open.
John Berger went six innings to earn the victory, giving up the one run. Chris Brookey went the last three innings.
Dean Green and Kyle Stalker both had two RBIs, Billy Clontz had two hits and an RBI, Logan Lotti a triple and David Duren a double for the Knights, who play the second game of a three-game series against Kitsap tonight.
James McLaughlin is the scheduled starter for Corvallis (2-1).
