OSU Fall Carnival
The Student Athlete Advisory Committee of the OSU Athletic Department will sponsor the third Fall Carnival from 5-7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Truax Indoor Center.
Children through middle school age can meet OSU athletes, play games and go trick or treating. Each OSU team will have an activity booth or event; Benny Beaver will attend. Costumes are recommended and children must be accompanied by an adult during the entire stay.

Tommy John in town
Former Major League Baseball great Tommy John will be in Benton County Jan. 8-10.
He will be a part of a meet and greet on Jan. 8 from 5-7 p.m. in Philomath. He will give a breakfast motivational speech on Jan. 9 at the Salbasgeon Hotel and will be at a dinner and silent auction from
6-9 p.m. that night at Corvallis High School. He will also take part in a baseball clinic at CHS from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost for the motivational speech is $30, the dinner and silent auction $75 and the baseball clinic $75. Cost is $125 for the clinic and dinner combined.
A $250 scholarship will be given to a high school or college athlete from Linn or Benton counties. Proceeds will go to the athletic departments in the Corvallis and Philomath school districts.

Hole-in-one
Frank Knight had a hole-in-one on the 148-yard No. 15 hole at the Corvallis Country Club. He used a 7-iron for his seventh career ace. It was witnessed by Doug Taylor, Steve Swedberg and Don Phillips.
Basketball officials meeting
The MidValley Basketball Officials' Association is holding two orientation meetings for anyone interested in officiating high school and middle school games.
The first meeting is Sunday, at the Corvallis High School gym at 3 p.m., with the second on Wednesday at Woodstock's Pizza at 6 p.m.

PYAC basketball signups
The Philomath Youth Activities Club is taking registrations for youth basketball. Registration forms for students in the first through sixth grades are available at the Clemens Primary School, as well as the Philomath Elementary and Middle School Offices.
Registration may also be completed at the PYAC office, 421 S 19th St., in Philomath.
Registration is open until Nov. 17. Late registrations will be subject to space availability as well as incurring a $5 late fee.
Practices will begin after Thanksgiving and games will begin in early January. For more information, call 929-4040.
Basketball signups
First through fourth graders can still sign up for fall basketball at the Corvallis Boys & Girls Club through 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27. Cost is $50.
Fall Biddy Basketball offers smaller courts and smaller basketballs to allow youth to learn proper fundamentals at an early age.
Two sessions a week are offered at the club, and practices and games are held on weekday evenings and Saturdays. Grades K-2 are co-ed, and grades 3-4 are separated by gender.
