AYSO spring registration

Limited AYSO open registration for spring 2008 is being held now through Feb. 29 by mail only. This registration is for any player who did not play AYSO in the fall.

Register online at www.corvallisayso.org. The cost is $55 per player born between Aug. 1, 1988 and July 31, 2003. Questions can be answered by calling the volunteer message center at 929-7422.

Basketball skills event

The Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis will be hosting a free basketball skills event for 5th-8th graders on Feb. 23 from 3-6 p.m.

The event is being put on by members of a Project Management class at Oregon State with OSU athletes on hand to help out.

The event is free but any donations will go to the Smile Train program (www.smiletrain.org).

OSU volleyball camps

Registration is open for the OSU volleyball summer camps for athletes ages 12-18. The overnight camps are July 22-25 for $390 and July 20-21 for $210. The commuter camps are July 18-19 at $160 and July 20-21 for $160.

LBCC baseball camp

LBCC's annual Baseball Hitting Camp will be held today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the LBCC Activities Center gym, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.

The clinic is geared for ballplayers ages 8 to 18. Camp includes three hours of instruction by LBCC coaches, a camp T-shirt and refreshments. Participants are grouped by age and experience, and each should bring their own bat, helmet and tennis shoes.

Cost for the camp is $40. For more information or to register, contact LBCC coach Greg Hawk at 917-4242. Drop-ins are welcome.
