Ultimate Frisbee tourney
The Oregon high school Ultimate Frisbee championships will be taking place at Crystal Lake Sports Park today and Sunday.
Games will begin just after 9 a.m. on both days, and last until around 4 or 5 p.m. today. The finals are slated for 1 or 2 p.m. on Sunday.
There is no admission cost.
AYSO resgistration
AYSO will offer one more registration for new players on May 21 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Adams Elementary gym.
People are encouraged to pre-register by going to www.eayso.org and print two copies to bring with them. The computer lab will be open for those who need to use it. Any current players who did not turn in their registration materials with the team packet May 10 need to bring their registration to Adams in order to register for the 2008-09 season.
All players will be placed on teams for the next season if they register during this time. The cost is $55 per player born between Aug. 1, 1989, and Jan. 31, 2004. Scholarships are available for those who qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.

PEAK Elite shines in championships
The PEAK Elite compulsory gymnastics team completed the 2008 competitive season by crowning several champions at the South Sectional Championships in Bend on April 25-27.
In Level 4, Kelli King won the all-around and placed second on vault, beam and floor, and fourth on bars. Cortney Schmidt won vault and beam and placed second all-around, sixth on bars and seventh on floor.
Rachel Larkin placed 10th all-around and seventh on vault. Natalie Amodei placed seventh all-around, seventh on bars and floor, eighth on vault and ninth on beam. Leah Van Vleet placed fifth all-around, fifth on vault, bars and beam and sixth on floor. Acacia Trevathan placed fifth all-around, third on vault, eighth on bars, fifth on beam and 10th on floor. Bridget Worsch placed sixth all-around, fifth on vault and floor, seventh on bars and sixth on beam.
In Level 5, Alex Smith won the all-around, bars, beam and floor titles and placed second on vault. Sarah Law placed fourth on bars, third on beam, sixth on floor and fifth all-around.
In Level 6, Maddy Hite won the all-around, bars and floor titles and placed third on beam.
Also competing for PEAK Elite at Sectionals were Zahara Kondo, Braelyn Locey and Halle Creswick.
The PEAK Elite optional gymnastics team completed the 2008 competitive season at the State Championships in Medford on April 4-6.
In Level 7, Jaime Law placed fifth on vault, third on bars, fifth on beam, second on floor and second all-around. Emily Mittman placed eighth on bars, sixth on beam and eighth on floor.
In Level 8, Nicole Doolen placed seventh on bars, fourth on beam, eighth on floor and eighth all-around, qualifying for the Regional Championships in Spokane, Washington, April 19-21.
At Regionals, Doolen placed 21st all-around, scoring a season high of 36.2.
One millionth golfer
Bill Brennon received the honor on Thursday of being the one millionth golfer at Trysting Tree Golf Club.
Trysting Tree opened on June 3, 1988, with the first paid foursome of Shell Perrigan, Ken Steiner, Tim Conner and Roger Fendall.
Golf tourney set
The Corvallis-Benton Chamber Coalition will host the 24th Annual Par Excellence Golf Tournamenton June 13 at Trysting Tree Golf Club.
There will be a continental breakfast and golf clinic followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. A BBQ lunch, raffle and awards ceremony will follow.
