Report

Who's hot

James Rodgers

Sophomore WR James Rodgers didn't want to be shown up by his little brother RB Jacquizz Rodgers any more, so he gained 216 all-purpose yards and scored three TDs.

Who's not

Tyrone Willingham

For a guy fighting for his job, it doesn't look good. The Huskies are similar to watching last year's OSU men's basketball team. It's just not working even with a good effort.

Turning point

The fly sweep

James Rodgers has been relatively quiet this season with the play that he made famous for OSU. He broke out with a 52-yard run for a TD to give the Beavers the lead with 2:23 left in the first quarter, and all the momentum to finish the game.

Key stat

4

The Huskies turned the ball over four times to none by OSU. The Beavers scored 17 points off the first three, and then ended the game after the fourth.

Injury report

CB Keenan Lewis (turf toe) was in and out of the game due to an injury suffered last week.

Trends

The Huskies have a 26-game edge in the series, but the Beavers have owned Washington of late. This was the fifth straight victory and fourth straight in Husky Stadium. The road success ties a school record for the most consecutive wins at a stadium, matching the four straight in Seattle between 1945-51.

Turnovers

• Lewis intercepted his second pass of the season and fifth of his career in the first quarter.

• Junior DE Ben Terry forced his first career fumble in the second quarter, and junior DT Sioeli Nau recovered his first career fumble on the play.

• Senior S Al Afalava intercepted his second pass of the season and third of this career in the third quarter.

• CB Brandon Hughes intercepted his first pass of the season and third of his career in the fourth quarter.

riley numbers

Coach Mike Riley won his 51st game with the Beavers. He has a 51-41 record in seven-plus seasons. That ties him with Dee Andros (1965-75) for the third-most wins in OSU history. Next up to catch is Tommy Prothro (1955-64) with 63.

sack guys

Senior DEs Victor Butler and Slade Norris moved up the all-time OSU list for most career sacks with the one sack they split. Butler is tied for fourth with LaDarius Jackson (1999-2000) at 15.5. Norris is tied for seventh with Esera Tuaolo (1987-90) with 14.

streak ends

Freshman RB Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 94 yards on 20 carries. That ended his consecutive 100-yard game streak at four.

The Schedule

The Beavers have a bye next week. They plan to practice Tuesday-Thursday, get out on the recruiting trail Friday and Saturday and reassemble Oct. 27 to prepare for a home game against Arizona State at 7:15 p.m. on Nov. 1.
