MONROE n Carlos Vazquez scored four touchdowns to lead Monroe to a 28-22 Mountain View Conference football win over Riddle on Friday night.

Vazquez rushed for 191 yards on 31 carries and scored on an 86-yard kickoff return and three runs.

The Dragons (2-5, 2-3) took a 14-6 lead into halftime, but Riddle tied it in the third. The Dragons responded with two touchdowns by Vazquez in the fourth for the win.

Monroe coach Max Wall said Vazquez had 17 carries in the second half.

"They came back to tie the game up and we just put the ball in his hands," Wall said. "He just kept running hard and the kids were doing a pretty good job up front, so we kept going with it."

Sophomore safety Sean Bodi kept Riddle at bay with three interceptions.

Monroe travels to Glendale next Friday.
