Brad Nelson isn't your ordinary teenager. The Corvallis High senior isn't a fan of Facebook. Nor does he have a celebrity crush. He is a pretty darn good distance runner though. He will run the 3,000 at the 5A state tournament today in Eugene. Next fall, he's going to Dartmouth University in New Hampshire, where he plans to study natural sciences.

Nickname: B-Rad.

Best prank he's ever pulled: "I have never pulled a successful prank worth mentioning, but I have botched a few."

Teammate most likely to win American Idol: "Probably Ben (Kane), because he's the best looking and the least talented."

Favorite athlete: "I would have to say Zeit (Cai) because he goes to my school. So I can say I know him."

Celebrity crush: He said he doesn't pay attention to celebrities and was adamant that he doesn't have even the slightest hint of a celebrity crush.

Biggest fear: "I'd like to think I am fearless, but that's not true. It would probably be being lost and nobody will help me."

Three things he'd want if was stranded on a deserted island: "Lots of food, lots of water and shark repellent ."

Most feared opponent: West Albany's Jordan Monroe, because "he either has a really good race or not-so-good race. But if he has a really good race, it's really hard to beat him."

Favorite historical figure: "Gustavus Adolphus, the great military commander from Sweden. He made really good use of the light cannon and he got killed in battle. After that, Sweden wasn't good in anything."

Most important world issue to him right now: "Political apathy, where people don't really care what happens, or if they do, they don't do anything about it."

Secret talent: Building "really big things" with Legos.

What sport does he wish he could play that he doesn't: "Soccer because I used to do soccer. But I gave it up for cross country."

What's the latest slang word he uses: He couldn't come up with one.

Rock Band or Guitar Hero: "Guitar Hero because Rock Band tries too hard."

How many hours a day does he spend on Facebook/Myspace: "15 minutes, which is still too much."

Favorite quote: "Not all who wander are lost."

Favorite Portland Trailblazer, past or present: He said he doesn't know any NBA players other than Michael Jordan.

American Dream or Woodstock's: American Dream.

Movie he thinks we should all see: "The Bridge on the River Kwai."

What he's been listening to lately: The Shins
