MONROE n The Monroe Dragons used a strong defensive effort to take the 34-0 Mountain View Conference win over Yoncalla on Friday.
Monroe (1-2) held Yoncalla to 32 yards rushing and forced four turnovers.
Dylan Caley returned an interception 17 yards for a touchdown and Keith Crowson had a 64-yard interception return to the Yoncalla 4.
The Dragons had all of their offense on the ground, rushing for 370 yards on 49 attempts. Carlos Vazquez had 129 yards on 24 carries and a touchdown.
Monroe is at Oakland next Friday.
