Crescent Valley girls tie Summit; Philomath girls top Catlin Gabel

Marissa Kovac scored off an assist from Caitlin Drost in the 75th minute as the Crescent Valley High girls soccer team rallied for a 1-1 nonconference tie with Summit on Saturday.

Summit had taken a 1-0 lead on a goal in the 35th minute.

The Raiders (5-2-1) open Mid-Willamette Conference play at home against Silverton on Tuesday.

PORTLAND - After spotting Catlin Gabel an early goal, the Warriors scored three straight to earn the nonleague win.

Joy deVos had two goals, including the equalizer in the 35th minute, and Rylee Marshall had the game-winner in the 68th minute for the Warriors.

It was Catlin Gabel's first loss of the season.

PHS (5-2-1) is home against Gervais in the Special District 4 opener for both teams on Monday at 4:15 p.m.
