Corvallis High defeated Lebanon 5-4 in eight innings on Monday in a Mid-Willamette Conference baseball game at Taylor Field.

Pinch-runner Peter Lee scored from second on a infield hit up the middle by Eric Evenson to give CHS (7-2, 3-1) the victory.

Mickey Godfrey led the Spartans at the plate with two hits and an RBI. Nate Heibert went 4-4 with two RBI for Lebanon.

The two teans play again today at Lebanon at 4:30 p.m.

MONROE - Devin Simmons pitched a 6-hit complete game and struck out eight for the Dragons (5-2, 3-0) in the Mountain West game.

Colton Hartshorn singled, doubled and drove in two runs and Andrew Murkin had two hits and two RBIs for the Dragons, who play a 4:30 p.m. non-league game at Jefferson today.

LEBANON - Emily Ehlers scored from second on an errant throw in the top of the seventh inning to lead Corvallis to the MWC win.

Ehlers led off with a double. Debra Pounder then bunted for a single and Elhers scored on a bad throw.

Pounder led CHS (4-2, 3-1) with two hits. Karmen Holladay had a complete-game 2-hitter.

Corvallis and Lebanon play again today at CHS at 4:30 p.m.

WOODBURN - The Crescent Valley boys finished second at MWC event at Tukwila.

CV scored a 319, four strokes behind champion West Albany. The Raiders were led by Brandon Taylor's 77.

CHS placed fifth at 346. Kevin Heath and Todd McShane both shot 84s.

CV was second and CHS placed third at a Mid-Willamette Confeerence meet at the Corvallis Country Club.

CV's Char Grossnicklaus shot a 53 and was the top local scorer.

Both teams will compete at the Thurston Invitational at Tokatee on Wednesday and at another MWC meet at the Golf Club of Oregon on April 9.
