The Corvallis High baseball team can all but wrap up the Mid-Willamette Conference title this week with a sweep of second-place Dallas.
However, if the Spartans go winless, the race for the title will be up for grabs.
Corvallis enters this week's series with Dallas at 13-2 with six games to play. Dallas is coming off a 1-2 week against West Albany to fall two games back at 11-4. The Bulldogs are a game back of Dallas at 10-5.
The Spartans hold the homefield advantage, playing at home today and Friday while traveling to Dallas on Wednesday.
Crescent Valley is tied for fourth in the conference after taking two of three games last week against South Albany. Both teams are 8-7, but the Raiders hold the tiebreaker by virtue of the series win.
Lebanon is a game behind at 7-8 and faces South Albany this week. The Raiders face Silverton (3-12) this week and close out the regular season against Lebanon.
The Raiders are at Silverton today, home on Wednesday and at Silverton on Friday.
South Albany closes the regular season against West Albany.
Softball
Crescent Valley, riding a nine-game winning streak, can make some noise this week in the MWC, but it won't be easy.
The Raiders (11-4) take on first-place and 14-0 Silverton tonight in the first game of a three-game series. CV is home tonight, at Silverton on Wednesday and home again on Friday.
Runs may come at a premium as the Silver Foxes have allowed 19 in 18 games this season.
The Raiders are tied with West Albany, but the Bulldogs will take on winless Woodburn so they should move to 14-4 by the end of the week.
Corvallis and Lebanon are in a battle for the fourth and final playoff berth. CHS, coming off three easy wins over Woodburn, is 9-6 while Lebanon is 8-6, according to scores reported. Only two scores against Silverton were reported last week.
