ST. PAUL n An undermanned Alsea team struggled in the 66-12 Special District 1 loss to the St. Paul Buckaroos on Friday.

The Wolverines (0-2) had five regular players on the bench nursing injuries, forcing coach Robert Webb to start four freshmen.

The Wolverines did not score until the third quarter when Tyson Schreiber hit Zeb Olsen with a 56-yard touchdown pass.

Olsen also had a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the final play of the game.

"We should have kids back next week," Webb said. "We knew it was going to be a tough game."

The Wolverines host Perrydale next Friday.
