Northwest Christian reserve guard Jenneca Crocker buried three straight 3-pointers to spark a 17-6 run as the Beacons earned a 60-50 victory over Concordia last Saturday.

Crocker, a sophomore, finished with nine points and five rebounds - two offensive - in nine minutes.

The 2006 Philomath High graduate averages 3.2 points and 2.3 rebounds while playing 12.3 minutes a game for the 12-10 Beacons.

Mike Green is averaging 12.5 points a game in conference play for the Chaminade Silverswords, who have won 11 straight games entering Sunday's game with Hawaii Pacific.

A 2003 Crescent Valley graduate, Green is a senior for the Silverswords (15-4, 10-0) and has started nine of 10 conference games and 13 of 19 this season.

University of Florida freshman Logan Storie was named the Southeastern Conference freshman swimmer of the week after winning the 1,500 and 400 meter free events last weekend in a meet against Auburn.

Storie's time in the 1,500 met the 'B' standard for the Olympic Trials.

Storie is a 2007 graduate of Corvallis High.

Philomath High graduate Daniel Hinchberger, a senior at Lander University in Greenwood, S.C., is slated to be one of the Bearcats top-three pitchers this baseball season.

He is expected to be a weekend starter for Lander, meaning he will throw primarily in Peach Belt Conference games. Hinchberger led the team in wins and starts in 2007, going 8-5 in 14 starts with a 3.60 ERA. He struck out 85 in 85 innings, walked 51 and held opponents to a .238 batting average.

Western Oregon senior Liam Hughes, a 7-foot-3 transfer from Oregon State, is averaging 7.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 19.9 minutes a game as a 17-game starter for the Wolves.

Keith Hoffman, a 2003 Crescent Valley graduate, has played in 14 games for WOU, averaging 2.4 points and 1.5 rebounds in 12.1 minutes a game. Hoffman is a senior for the Wolves.
