ADAIR VILLAGE - The top-ranked Santiam Christian High boys basketball team struggled in the first half but clamped down and pulled away for a 47-25 PacWest Conference win over Toledo High on Monday.

The Eagles (8-1, 2-0) trailed 16-15 at the half, but outscored the Boomers 18-3 in the third after a pep talk by coach Ron Sisler at the half.

Sisler said the Eagles played flat in the first half.

"I think we played with a lot of complacency," Sisler said. "We picked up the defensive effort second half. Once we did that we got ourselves back in the game mentally."

Jeremy Bittner finished with 16 points and five rebounds for SC.

The Eagles play at Chemawa on Wednesday.
