LEBANON n Crescent Valley got comfortable and then got on a roll in a 3-0 Mid-Willamette Conference win over Lebanon on Thursday.
Match scores were 25-18, 25-22, 25-12.
CV coach Corey Barton said the Raiders (1-0) gained confidence with each game.
"Once they realized they were good enough to go there and handle the crowd, then it was a runaway match," Barton said.
Elizabeth Young had seven digs, nine kills and two blocks and Christy Reed added eight kills and two blocks for the Raiders.
The win was a good step for the Raiders. Lebanon has had a strong volleyball program in recent seasons and is difficult to beat at home.
"The team is extremely athletic and capable, but where they're going to grow is in self confidence," Barton said. "It's really hard to win at Lebanon for any team in any sport, so it's a huge confidence booster."
Janelle Batista finished with two kills and six stuff blocks, Ali Cook had four kills and four stuff blocks, Sammie Brandstetter had 12 digs and Hannah Lorenz had 20 assists and two blocks for CV.
