Nick Eason, Nadav Heyman and Alex Hendrickson combined for 43 points as Corvallis High knocked off Sheldon 54-43 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Wednesday at Spartan Gym.
It was the second victory over a 6A opponent in as many games for the Spartans (2-0).
"We've got two quality wins over 6A teams now," CHS coach Greg Garrison said. "And Sheldon ran a matchup zone and did some funky things offensively and defensively."
Corvallis built a 19-point lead entering the fourth quarter, then weathered the Irish's late run to secure the win.
Garrison was particularly pleased with the Spartans' defensive effort.
"Overall we did a really good defensive job in holding them to 43; they're a fairly explosive team," he said.
Sheldon was without two players who are part of the Irish's football team.
Eason had 16 points and six rebounds and Heyman added 15 points.
Corvallis will play Thurston on Monday in Springfield.
