Santiam Christian placed six players on the PacWest Conference softball first-team, with Bill Ford earning coach of the year honors.
The Eagles, who won the conference title and advanced to the OSAA 3A state quarterfinals, placed Kalyssa Koontz (pitcher), Hannah Doyle (infield), Katie Elwer (infield), Quincey Davis (outfield), Becca Anni (first base) and Kiersten Hendrix (utility/DH) on the first team.
Second-team honors went to catcher Courtney Towery, while Amy Peterson (outfield) received honorable mention
Regis catcher Alex Minten was the player of the year.
Track
The Philomath girls 1,600-meter relay team placed sixth in Saturday's finals of the OSAA 4A state meet at Hayward Field.
The team of Audrey Hendricks, Taylor Patterson, Rylee Marshall and Barry McLaren finished in 4 minutes, 8.75 seconds.
The Warriors edged Val-Co League rival Newport (4:09.64). Henley won in 3:56.83.
Basketball
CHS senior Nick Eason will be a member of the 5A South team in the OACA/Gatorade All Star Series boys basketball games.
Philomath's David Sturner will be on the North team in the 4A games, while Monroe's Kyle Guldager will be a member of the North team in the 2A games.
The games take place June 20-21. The games start with the 2A at 1:30 p.m. June 20 at Eugene's Northwest Christian College. The 6A game closes the day with an 8:30 p.m. start.
The games on June 21 will be played at Clackamas Community College with the same time schedule.
