Corvallis moved to 3-2 with the 43-30 nonconference home win over Marist.

“We played solid defense,” said coach Greg Garrison.

While the team didn’t make many outside shots, they were 14-18 from the line in the fourth quarter to put the game way.

Alexandria Vallancey-Martinson led all scorers with 19 points. She also had 14 rebounds. “She had a great game at both ends of the court,” said coach Greg Garrison.

“I’m pretty proud of the team’s rebounding and defense,” said Garrison.

The Spartans hose Mountain View on Friday.

Valley Catholic 56, Philomath 39 

Philomath lost a non-league contest at Valley Catholic. 

Lauren Berkland had a team-high eight points for the Warriors (2-3) who host Summit on Friday. 

Siletz 58, Alsea 24

Alsea opened its season with a tough loss at home. Arielle Reed and Abbie Lowther lead the team with six points each.

Alsea plays at Triangle Lake on Monday.

Monroe 44, East Linn Christian 34

Monroe rebounded from their only loss of the season with the home win. Madison Ballard scored 16 points to lead the Dragons.

Monroe plays at St. Paul on Monday in the St. Paul Holiday Tournament. 

Santiam Christian 46, Scio 43

Santiam Christian survived a close game at home against a tough Scio squad.

Rebeka Preston had a game-high 26 points for the Eagles.

Santiam Christian (3-1) plays at St. Paul on Friday.
