CRESWELL — Crescent Valley High’s Seth King finished tied for 14th at the OSAA 5A state boys golf tournament at Emerald Valley Golf Club on Tuesday.

The Raiders finished fourth as a team with a 338-347—685. Marist won the title with a 299-324—623, Summit was second 318-325—643 and Thurston third (334-332—666).

Corvallis was seventh with a 352-371—723.

King had an 85 on Tuesday after posting a 78 on Monday for a 36-hole total of 163. Matthew Zaback had an 81-86—167 to place 18th and Michael Gray went 86-84—170 for 19th.

CV’s Conner Sandberg had a 93-92—185 (T32) and Trevor Thibert a 92 in his only round.

For the Spartans, Nick Van Vleet had an 80-84—164 to tie for 16th, while Zachary Montagne went 84-93—117 (T24), Parker Wright 93-92—185 (T32), Simon Rodriguez 98-102—200 (45th) and Mateo Rodriguez 95-106—201 (T46).

Baseball

EUGENE — Corvallis tuned up for the 5A state baseball playoffs with a 15-5 win at 6A South Eugene.

The Spartans (18-8) have now won six straight since losing the previous six.

Santiam Christian 8, Monroe 0

MONROE — The Eagles picked up their third straight shutout with the win at Monroe.

Sam Barton pitched allowed four hits in going the distance on the mound. Ryan Hall went 3 for 5 and SC had 13 hits. Barton and Ben Galceran had two RBI's each.

The Eagles (17-8) will travel to Taft for a West Valley League playoff game on Thursday.

Monroe (17-7) will look to wrap up the Special District 3 title with a doubleheader at Lowell on Wednesday.

Softball

MONROE — Santiam Christian edged Monroe 3-2 in a nonleague softball game. The Eagles (11-9) will play at Amity in a West Valley League playoff game on Wednesday.

The Dragons (16-5), who had their 100-game win streak snapped, are at Lowell for a doubleheader on Wednesday, looking to close out the Special District 3 title.
