DALLAS — The Crescent Valley High volleyball team posted its first Mid-Willamette Conference win of the season on Thursday with a hard-fought 3-0 triumph at Dallas. Set scores were 25-14, 27-25, 25-23.

“We definitely had more fight” than in a loss to Corvallis on Sept. 5, CV coach Brittney Yeskie said. “That loss stung so we came out swinging tonight and played much better.”

Desarae Reab had 12 kills and four assists, Mitra Aflatooni had seven kills, six digs and five assists, Lindsay Grossman had 12 assists and seven kills, Tais Vega has five digs and four kills, Mariah Taylor had seven assists and Adrianna Kazmaire had five digs to lead CV.

The Raiders (1-1 all, 1-1 MWC) play at the South Eugene tournament on Saturday. They resume MWC action on Tuesday with a home match against Central.

Santiam Christian 3, Horizon Christian 0

ADAIR VILLAGE — The Eagles swept Horizon Christian in the West Valley League match. Set scores were 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.

SC (3-1 all, 2-1 WVL) resumes league play on Tuesday with a road match at Westside Christian in Tigard.

Alsea 3, Waldport 1

ALSEA — Alsea topped visiting Waldport in a nonleague match. Set scores were 25-19, 25-21, 17-25, 25-23.

Sophomore Megan Harper had five kills, two blocks and two aces. Junior Kaleea Bishop added four aces and six kills and freshman Jessica Carlisle had six kills and three aces. 

“The team played really well together,” coach Katie Sapp said. “We are really proud of their teamwork and positive attitude on the court.” 

Alsea (1-1 all, 0-1 Mountain West) resumes conference play at Triangle Lake on Tuesday.

Girls soccer

ADAIR VILLAGE — Visiting Pleasant Hill scored once in each half to defeat Santiam Christian in the Eagles’ 3A/2A/1A Special District 4 opener.

"We played very well, the girls battled," SC coach Wendi Farris said. "We had some good looks at the goal, we just couldn't get anything to go in.

"Keeper Kalli Ropp had some fantastic stops and had five saves. Pleasant Hill just played a little better but we will learn from this."

SC (1-1-0 all, 0-1-0 SD4) resumes league play at LaPine on Tuesday.
