GRESHAM — Philomath junior Patrick Williamson set two school records in Friday’s preliminaries of the OSAA 4A/3A/2A/1A swimming state meet at Mount Hood Community College.

Williamson had the top qualifying time in the 100-yard freestyle at 49.93 seconds, and his 100 breaststroke time of 1:03.43 was fourth best.

He also teamed with Nando Neusteuer, Clay Youker and Bailey Jones to take fourth in the 200 medley relay in 1:48.61.

The top six times in each event qualify for the finals, scheduled for 6:45 p.m. today.

Philomath’s Kendra Sheeder qualified third in the girls 50 freestyle in 25.42.

Philomath got personal bests from all of its individual entries and season’s best from all four relays.
