PHILOMATH — Madeline Lehman delivered 48 assists and Kaiten Manning and Courtney Croy had 15 kills each as the Philomath High came away with the five-set Oregon West Conference volleyball win over Stayton on Tuesday.

Set scores were 25-14, 21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-8.

It was the first five-set match of the season for the Warriors (7-4, 4-1).

“That fifth game, we got going quick,” coach Alain Brown said. “I told the girls, there’s not a lot of time to mess up. We led the whole way and finished it strong.”

Whitney McClain, Andrea Bartlow and Brooke Wendlund all had nine kills, while Bartlow had four blocks. The Warriors were playing without middle blocker Laurel Luke, who was out ill, but pressed Wendlund into service in the middle.

PHS plays at Central on Thursday.

Santiam Christian 3, Scio 0

SCIO — Santiam Christian improved to 6-1 in the PacWest Conference with the win in three sets.

Set scores were 25-10, 25-6, 25-4.

The Eagles take a 13-3 overall record to Salem Academy on Thursday. Scio (2-9, 2-6) plays at Creswell.

Days Creek 3, Monroe 0

MONROE — The Dragons could keep up with Days Creek, which remained unbeaten in the Mountain View Conference.

Set scores were 25-11, 25-9, 25-13.

Monroe (2-9, 1-6) will host North Douglas on Thursday while Days Creek (21-3, 7-0) faces Riddle.
