SUGAR GROVE, Ill. — The second round of the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf National Championships was cancelled on Saturday due to inclement weather.
The championship will be shortened to 54 holes with 18 on Sunday and the final round on Monday.
Oregon State junior Susie Cavanagh is tied for 44th place, and only seven strokes out of the lead, after opening with a 7-over 79 at the par-72, 6,343-yard Rich Harvest Farms.
None of the 132 golfers in the field were able to finish in red figures in cold and windy conditions on Friday. August Kim of Purdue and Elodie Van Dievoet of Michigan share the clubhouse lead after opening with an even-par 72.
