Oregon State has received it’s first verbal football commitment — cornerback Jadarius Byrd from Jacksonville, Florida — for 2016, according to Angie Machado of BeaverBlitz.com.
Byrd announced his commitment on his twitter account (@byrd_noflyzone): “I would like to verbally Commit to Oregon State University and join my big bros @Grind_Shine2 @Jay_underrated1 #GoBeavs”
Byrd told BeaverBlitz that 2015 signeem Jay Irvine, also a cornerback, is his cousin and Taylor Thomas, a running back, is a high school teammate.

“Jay told me that it is a great place and the facilities are really great,” Byrd told BeaverBlitz.
Signing Day is nearly a full year away, so anything can happen.
“It is a long ways off and I’m not shutting anything down, but I feel real good about Oregon State, especially with Tay and Jay going out there,” Byrd told BeaverBlitz. “Javonte Ferguson is a wide receiver in my class that has also been offered by Oregon State. I’m going to work on him and also help to recruit others to join me.”
