In a preseason coaches poll, the Lions were picked to finish 10th in the 10-team West Coast Conference. They lost four starters off the 2016-17 team that went 15-15 overall and 8-10 in WCC play.
LMU's head coach is Mike Dunlap, who is in his fourth year in that position. He's 41-57 overall and 18-36 in conference with the Lions.
Dunlap's previous head coaching tenures have included USC (1986-89), Australia's Adelaide 36ers (1994-97), Metro State (1997-2006) and the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats (2012-13). He's also been an associate head coach at Arizona and Oregon.
