Oregon State hosts Wyoming on Monday night at Gill Coliseum.
The Cowboys return five of their top six scorers off the 2016-17 squad that went 23-15 (8-10 in the Mountain West Conference) and won the College Basketball Invitational title. That includes junior guard Justin James (16 points, 5.0 rebounds) and senior forward Hayden Dalton (12.2 points, 8.3 rebounds), the team’s top two scorers last year.
James won the Mountain West’s Sixth Man Award and was an all-conference third-team selection and the CBI most valuable player. Dalton was named to the all-conference honorable mention.

In Friday’s 74-65 season-opening home win against Chattanooga on Friday, Dalton had a career-high 30 points (9-17 from the field, 5-9 on 3-pointers), with 13 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. It was the most points scored by a Wyoming player in nearly nine years.
The Cowboys set a Mountain West single-season record last year with 369. James, Dalton, senior forward Alan Herndon and senior guard Alexander Aka Gorski each made 49 or more.
Allen Edwards is in his second year as head coach after five seasons as a Cowboys assistant. He was previously an assistant at Kentucky, Morehead State, VCU, Towson and Western Kentucky.
