Food Share gets grant

The Community Service Consortium’s Linn Benton Food Share recently received a $5,000 Bank of American Charitable Foundation grant to fight hunger in the mid-Willamette Valley.

“I am so glad we were able to help such a great local organization,” said Kori Valencourt, a manager with the Bank of America’s Albany branch.

Every year, the Linn Benton Food Share distributes more than 5 million pounds of food.

Credit union wins awards

The Northwest Credit Union Association presented the Oregon State Credit Union with three honors at its annual banquet in early October.

One award was for the local credit union’s youth financial education program, which aims to prepare K-12 students to make real-life financial decisions.

The Oregon State Credit Union also won an adult financial education award for its partnership with Oregon State University, which ensures that its curriculum reaches the entire student body of 30,000 people.

Rachel Pross, who heads the credit union’s enterprise risk management program, also won the young credit union professional of the year honor.

Samaritan promotes Mara McManus

Samaritan Health Services has promoted Mara McManus to the position of quality reporting manager.

McManus will work with several departments across the health system to oversee government reporting programs. She will focus on facilitating workflow and process improvements. She will monitor Samaritan’s use of electronic health records to improve quality, safety and efficiency, reduce health disparities, and engage patients and families.

Additionally, she will lead Samaritan’s participation in the Physician Quality Reporting System, a government initiative to measure the overall delivery and coordination of health care for consumers and providers.

Samaritan gathers data about patient outcomes and satisfaction to measure the quality of its physicians and facilities. The information is compiled through independent resources and made available to the public.

McManus joined Samaritan in 2005, working first at Samaritan Pediatrics as an office specialist, clinic coordinator and then manager. Most recently, she worked in project management for Samaritan Health Physicians Administration.

Marnie, Xion Zoa join Keller Williams

Keller Williams Realty recently announced the addition of Marnie Zoa and Xion Zoa to its team.

Marnie Zoa has about 17 years of real estate experience and also brings knowledge from her other careers in title/escrow and lending. Xion Zoa brings a background of 30 years in sales and construction, as well as being a musician. He repairs and builds guitars.
