We will remember the August, 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan and renew our pledge to promote peace and end war. Commemoration events include paper crane making, poetry, music and the symbolic lighting of candles. At the conclusion of the ceremony, all present are invited to walk the short distance to the Van Buren Bridge to watch as boats travel down river carrying lanterns for peace and for the remembrance of all those who lost lives in the bombings.
Hosted by: The Corvallis branch of Women's International League of Peace & Freedom (WILPF), Veterans For Peace Linus Pauling Chapter (VFP), and the OSU School of History, Philosophy & Religion.
