The 2019 Benton Lecture Series continues Monday, March 4, at the Benton County Museum in Philomath.

Oregon State University faculty member Benita Blessing plans to discuss the vampire character and metaphor in a program entitled “Our Vampires, Ourselves.” Blessing’s presentation, described as fun and informative, is based on her popular OSU class. Those in attendance will learn about where vampire lore originates, how it has evolved and what it reveals about people’s deepest fears.

Lectures begin at noon upstairs in the Moreland Gallery. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. Lectures are free to historical society members and $5 for all others.
