Philomath will get into the Christmas spirit this coming Monday evening with the 13th annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony on the lawn of the Benton County Historical Museum.
Hot chocolate and cookies, holiday music, Santa Claus and counting down the seconds to the lighting of the tree are highlights of the community event, which is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. rain or shine.
The Philomath Area Chamber of Commerce serves as host for the tree-lighting ceremony. Those in attendance can take the chill of the evening off with hot cocoa and cookies provided by the neighboring College United Methodist Church. Eats & Treats also provides gluten-free cookies.
