The Philomath School Board plans to gather for a meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday in the school district’s office.
Board members will consider adoption of K-5 math curriculum.
Immediately following the public meeting, board members will move into executive session. State statute allows public boards to meet in a session closed to the public for specific reasons, including “for the purpose of selecting a new chief executive officer.”
However, boards are not allowed to take votes on decisions in executive session; those are required to occur in an open meeting.
The board is in the process of hiring an interim superintendent for the 2019-20 school year following the resignation of Melissa Goff.
The school district office is located at 1620 Applegate St., in front of Philomath Elementary. Access to the board’s conference room is through a door located at the back of the building.
