Oregon State Graduation 2018

This year's Oregon State University commencement will begin at 10:30 a.m. June 15 in Reser Stadium.

CORVALLIS — Oregon State University will hold its 150th commencement Saturday and among those earning degrees will be 35 students who either list Philomath as their hometown or city of residence.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. in Reser Stadium.

Jane Lubchenco, a marine ecologist and world-renowned leader in environmental research, will serve as the commencement speaker. Lubchenco, a distinguished professor at Oregon State and former administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, will receive an honorary doctorate degree in ocean, earth and atmospheric sciences at the ceremony.

Commencement is free and open to the public; no tickets are necessary. OSU is one of the few large universities in the nation to hand out students’ actual diplomas during the commencement ceremony.

Local students earning degrees include:

• Breanna L. Davis, bachelor of science, human development and family sciences; Benjamin M. Dodge, bachelor of science, finance; Anne M. Esterberg, bachelor of science, psychology; Hayley C. Fields, bachelor of science, management; Matthew T. Gerding, bachelor of science, management.
