FRIDAY, DEC. 14

SUSPICIOUS: Philomath Police responded at 9:09 p.m. to a report of a front door open at a residence on the 1100 block of Applegate Street. The officer did not locate anyone inside or any sign of criminal activity.

SATURDAY, DEC. 15

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Philomath Police cited Bobby Wade Loftis, 44, of Philomath, for driving with a suspended license. The officer recognized him and pulled him over at 1:39 p.m. on the 1100 block of Pioneer Street.

SUNDAY, DEC. 16

STOLEN VEHICLE CRASH: The Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Philomath Police Department pursued a motorist at 2:25 p.m. in a stolen pickup traveling west on Highway 20 just west of Philomath. The pursuit ended shortly after the suspect, Cameron Scott Avery, 27, of Lebanon, crashed nearly head-on into an oncoming vehicle. Avery and the other motorist were both hospitalized, and Avery was later booked on several charges.

MONDAY, DEC. 17

ILLEGAL DRUGS: A Philomath police officer and Benton County sheriff deputy responded at 8:30 p.m. to a report of a domestic disturbance on the 24500 block of Gellatly Way. John Caldwell, 25, of Philomath, was arrested on a charge of possession of a Schedule II drug.

TUESDAY, DEC. 18

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: A Philomath police officer questioned a man who a caller said appeared to be breaking into a residence on the 200 block of North 10th Street through a side window at 6:51 a.m. It turns out the man was part of a construction crew that was remodeling the house. He had permission to be there, but he had forgotten his key and needed to access his tools that were inside the residence.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 19

ATTEMPTED THEFT: A man reported to Philomath Police at 4:55 p.m. that someone attempted to steal a package from his porch on the 2500 block of Newton Street.

TRAFFIC CRASH: 11:52 a.m., Highway 20, about 7 miles northwest of Philomath.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 19

MEDICAL: 4:25 a.m., 1400 block of Main Street.

MEDICAL: 2:29 p.m., 1600 block of Bullevard Street.

SMOKE SCARE: 10:03 p.m., 24000 block of Highway 20.

MEDICAL: 10:08 p.m., 500 block of North 13th Street.
