WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13

MENACING: Corvallis and Philomath police responded at 10:27 a.m. to Mexico Lindo at 5228 S.W. Philomath Blvd in Corvallis and arrested Vicente Soltero, 50, of Philomath, on charges of first-degree assault and menacing.

FRIDAY, FEB. 15

SEX OFFENDER: Philomath police arrested Caleb Ray Barney, 32, of Philomath, on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender because Barney is required to register annually and had not reported since August 2017. The arrest took place at 4:15 p.m. at an address on the 300 block of South 17th Street.

SATURDAY, FEB. 16

WARRANT: Philomath police issued Shelby Christine Hibbs, 21, of Philomath, a citation in lieu of arrest for a warrant. The interaction took place at 1:30 a.m. at a residence on the 3000 block of Southwest Neer Avenue.

WARRANT: A Benton County sheriff deputy cited Angela Rooks, age not reported, of Dayton, for driving with a suspended license and for a Yamhill County warrant for failing to appear in court on a methamphetamine possession charge. The interaction took place following a traffic stop at 12:14 p.m. on the Alsea-Deadwood Highway near milepost 1.

BARKING DOG: Philomath police responded at 8:51 p.m. to the area of 26th Street and Main Street for a report of a barking dog.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Philomath police responded at 9:50 p.m. to the 1400 block of Main Street for a report of a vehicle that was observed making a turn as a door opened on the vehicle. The officer performed a traffic stop on the vehicle and determined that the driver was not impaired and that there had not been a dispute between occupants.

THEFT: Philomath police took a report of someone trespassing and stealing cans from the front of a residence on the 600 block of South 19th Street.

SUNDAY, FEB. 17

MIP: Philomath police cited a motorist for being under age 21 and in possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at 9:35 p.m. The officer had reportedly witnessed the motorist make an illegal U-turn at 19th and Main streets.

MONDAY, FEB. 18

DUII: Philomath police arrested Zoe Elena Frost, 25, of Corvallis, on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop at 11:08 p.m. near the intersection of Philomath Boulevard and 53rd Street in Corvallis. Frost’s blood alcohol content reportedly measured 0.22 percent, nearly three times the legal limit.

WARRANT: Philomath police arrested Brenda Michelle Baarsch, 35, of Lebanon, on two warrants, one related to a probation violation and one for failing to appear in court on a heroin possession charge. The arrest took place following a traffic stop at 10:12 p.m. on the 200 block of South 13th Street.

TUESDAY, FEB. 19

MIP/SPEEDING: A Benton County sheriff deputy cited a 19-year-old motorist for being in possession of alcohol after it was determined that he was not driving impaired but that he had consumed a beer and used marijuana. The motorist, who was pulled over at 5:25 p.m. on Priest Road near Kings Valley Highway, was also issued a ticket for driving 88 mph in a 55-mph zone.

WARRANT: A Benton County sheriff deputy arrested Aaron Fredric Hansen, 44, on a methamphetamine possession charge and a warrant following a traffic stop at 12:30 p.m. on the Alsea-Deadwood Highway near milepost 1. Hansen, whose city of residence was not listed, was issued criminal citations in lieu of being held in custody.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 20

TWO-VEHICLE CRASH: While negotiating a curve on Highway 20 about 7 miles northwest of Philomath, a motorist traveling east sideswiped a vehicle that was traveling west in the westbound lane. Benton County sheriff deputies were dispatched to the scene at 12:23 p.m. and did not indicate in the incident report whether anyone was injured.

FRIDAY, FEB. 22

PUBLIC ASSIST/DOG BITE: Benton County sheriff deputies were dispatched at 11:13 p.m. to Marys Peak Road near milepost 3 to rescue five people who were stranded in the snow. During the rescue, an intoxicated man opened the dog door on a deputy’s patrol vehicle, releasing K-9 Brutus, who bit the man on the upper arm. The man was transported to the hospital and treated for a minor injury.

TWO-VEHICLE CRASH: 12:21 p.m., Highway 20 and Lilly Hill Road, 7 miles northwest of Philomath.

ILLEGAL BURN: 6:29 p.m., 100 block of North 14th Street.

UNINTENTIONAL ALARM: 9:52 p.m., 2000 block of Applegate Street.
