FRIDAY, DEC. 21

SCAM: A resident reported to Philomath Police that he was scammed into giving out his social security number to someone who called him and claimed to be a police officer.

SUNDAY, DEC. 23

MISSING PERSON: Philomath Police responded at 4:48 a.m. to an address on the 1700 block of South Maple Street to assist a resident with a report of a missing person. Ultimately, the missing individual was contacted and located.

TRAFFIC CRASH: A motorist reported to Philomath Police at 5:39 p.m. that he struck another vehicle while driving west on the 1300 block of Main Street, but that the other motorist did not stop.

MONDAY, DEC. 24

DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: Philomath Police responded at 5:36 p.m. to a report of a domestic disturbance on the 100 block of South 20th Street. No crime was committed and the two parties agreed to separate for the night.

FALSE ALARM: Philomath Police responded at 11:41 p.m. to an activated burglar alarm at NAPA Auto Parts at 1203 Main St. Officers were unable to locate anyone or anything suspicious.

TUESDAY, DEC. 25

DUII: Philomath Police arrested Billy Vanater, 35, of Sutherlin, on a charge of driving under the influence following a traffic stop at 9:55 p.m. on the 2600 block of Main Street. Vanater’s blood alcohol content reportedly measured 0.15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 26

MAIL THEFT: Mail was reported stolen from a mailbox on the 400 block of College Street.

THURSDAY, DEC. 27

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Philomath High School staff reported that someone caused damage to the football field by driving over it.
