Information comes from the Philomath Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. It does not include all calls for service. MONDAY, SEPT. 10

NON-INJURY CRASH: A man traveling north on Kings Valley Highway, about 2 miles north of Highway 20, drove into the west-side ditch at about 5:40 p.m. The car had to be towed but no one was injured. A vehicle two cars in front of the man had slowed to make a right turn into a driveway. As the man went to pass the two vehicles on the left side of the road, the vehicle directly in front of him also pulled out to pass. The man drove into the ditch to avoid hitting the car.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 13

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: A resident on Marys River Estates Road reported to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office that three days prior, two men driving an older Ford pickup came to the door and told her daughter that they needed to check something with the heating system. They did not have an appointment and they were not from the company that the woman uses to maintain her furnace. The men, who were described as being in their mid-50s and mid-20s, set up a follow-up appointment with the woman’s daughter before she sent them away.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 16

CAR PROWL: A purse and wallet were stolen from a vehicle on the 2500 block of Newton Street sometime during the night of Sept. 15 or early morning hours of Sept. 16.

MONDAY, SEPT. 17

VANDALISM: A man reported that someone tagged his pickup with red spray paint sometime during the night of Sept. 16. The vehicle was parked on the 700 block of Pioneer Street.

RESTRAINING ORDER: Philomath Police took a report of an alleged restraining order violation.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 18

TWO-VEHICLE CRASH: Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Philomath Fire & Rescue personnel responded at 1:02 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Bellfountain Road and Llewellyn Road. The driver and passenger of one vehicle were not injured, and the driver of the second vehicle was transported to the hospital.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 20

HARASSMENT: Philomath Police took a report of telephonic harassment.

HURT PET: A Benton County sheriff deputy spotted an injured cat on Highway 20, about 3 miles west of Philomath, at 11:26 p.m. The deputy placed the cat on a blanket and transported it to the Willamette Veterinary Hospital in Corvallis. The cat was microchipped, and the deputy was told that the clinic would attempt to contact the owner.

MEDICAL: 9:47 p.m., 24100 block of Henderson Road, south of Philomath.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 15

MEDICAL: 3:01 p.m., 2300 block of Newton Street.

MONDAY, SEPT. 17

MEDICAL: 9:21 p.m., 300 block of North 18th Street.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 18

VEHICLE CRASH: 1:02 p.m., Bellfountain Road and Llewellyn Road.

SMALL WILDLAND FIRE: 4:09 p.m., 25000 block of Southwest Airport Road.

MEDICAL: 8:17 p.m., 2300 block of Applegate Street.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 19

PUBLIC ASSIST: 12:56 a.m., 1200 block of Main Street.

UNINTENTIONAL ALARM: 1:36 p.m., 1900 block of College Street.

MEDICAL: 2:14 p.m., 2400 block of Newton Street.
