Lilly’s Lope for Hope begins at 10 a.m. Saturday. The annual event offers a 5-kilometer run and 1-kilometer walk. The Lope is organized as a suicide awareness event in memory of Lilly Stagner. Proceeds go toward “Lilly’s Grant for Guidance,” a fund in place to support mental health programs in Philomath schools and a few neighboring districts. A mental health fair and silent auction will also a part of the event.

Over at the high school, the 34th annual Paul Mariman Invitational will be staged. The meet begins at noon with middle-school races followed by JV at 1 p.m., and the varsity teams at 2 p.m. Some of the top teams in Class 4A — which includes Philomath — will be at the meet.
