The Philomath High School volleyball team finished its first run through the Oregon West Conference Tuesday with a 4-2 record following a straight-set victory at Woodburn.

The Warriors defeated the Bulldogs, 25-16, 25-7 and 25-19.

Freshman Abigail Brown had 11 kills with zero errors in the match to lead the Warriors’ attack. Sophomore Sage Kramer finished with nine kills. Coach Denee Newton rested seniors Emma Pankalla and Joelle Berger for most of the match.

Sophomore Laura Noble had 17 set assists while junior Claire Skinkis had 18 digs and seven aces.

The Warriors (8-5 overall) plays at 6 p.m. Thursday at home against Stayton. Woodburn falls to 1-10 overall, 0-6 in the conference.
