Hey Warriors fans, today is Thursday, Aug. 15.
As I’m sure our parents and athletes know, we’ve got various sports camps going this week at the high school. I’ve written about a few of these in recent weeks, including the football camp organized by Brody Hiner and the volleyball camp organized by Joelle Berger — both as part of their senior projects.
Volleyball and soccer camps were staged last week. The football youth camp that got started this week on Monday wraps up today. A high school football conditioning camp also opened this week with two-hour sessions each evening.
The football team has been checking out gear all week as they prepare for the official practice start date of Aug. 19. This afternoon, the sophomores and freshmen will get their equipment in the football team room (the seniors and juniors got their gear earlier in the week) with the final youth camp to follow. Another high school conditioning session wraps up the day over two hours in the evening.
A cheer and dance kids’ camp for youth in grades K-8 has also been going on this week at PHS. The Shining Stars host the two-hour sessions, which wrap up this morning.
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you at the game.
