Hey Warriors fans, today is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Although this blog is called “Warriors Today,” I’m going to give a shout-out this morning to the Braves. Philomath Middle School’s girls cross-country team won the state title Sunday up at Western Oregon University in Monmouth.
The meet features a course on WOU’s Ash Creek Preserve and the middle-schoolers run 3 kilometers. In the girls “Super Champs” 3K, Philomath won with 60 points with Linus Pauling finishing second at 73. Fourteen other schools also competed with full teams.
Individually, sixth-grader Lucy King was 31st (12:04.90), sixth-grader Ana Candanoza was 36th (12:08.30), seventh-grader Kateri Pindell was 41st (12:13.20), seventh-grader Adele Beckstead was 49th (12:17.60) and eighth-grader Bailey Bell was 69th (12:33.70) to contribute to that team score of 60.

For the boys, eighth-grader Simon King had a high individual placing with seventh in 10:26.90. Philomath Middle School’s boys as a team finished ninth.
Congrats to the PMS girls for winning the top trophy in its division.
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you at the next game.
