Vermont cross-country: Meaghan Alba

Philomath grad Meaghan Alba competes in the Fall Foliage Invitational at St. Albans, Vermont last weekend. She placed fourth with a personal-best time.

Hey Warriors fans, today is Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Meaghan Alba, a Philomath High graduate who did some great things in cross-country with the Warriors, is competing as a varsity runner at the University of Vermont.

Last weekend at the Fall Foliage Invitational at St. Albans, Vermont, Alba placed fourth overall in the varsity 5-kilometer race with a time of 18:10.

The performance bettered Alba’s previous personal-best by 19.1 seconds.

Vermont won the meet with 18 points and coming up this week, she and her teammates will be running in the America East Conference Championships. Alba is a sophomore at the university.
