Thursday: Family Day

Event: Two workshops inspired by the Smithsonian’s “Things Come Apart” traveling exhibit (pictured is a flip clock made by Sanyo in the 1970s) are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday at the Benton County Historical Museum, 1101 Main St., Philomath. Friday: Zipsquid

Sunday: New Year’s Eve Party

Music: The Deep Woods Band and Blue Honey perform Sunday starting at 7 p.m. at the Summit Grange, 19854 Summit Highway, Blodgett. The two bands will play blues, original songs and classic psychedelic songs. Liquid light show and ball drop included. Admission: $8 at the door. Families are invited to check out the Smithsonian’s exhibit “Things Come Apart.” In conjunction with the exhibit, the Benton County Historical Society is offering a workshop where kids can learn how a pipe organ works by taking one apart. "East Comes West," Japanese Print Exhibition, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fairbanks Gallery, 220 SW 26th St., OSU, Corvallis. The second part of the exhibition of prints from the Atelier Outotsu printmaking studio of Japan opens at the Fairbanks Gallery. It is also on view in the Memorial Union Concourse Gallery. In all, 29 artists are represented in the two shows.
