Corvallis residents have a chance to savor the bounty of autumn with an assortment of offerings from local restaurants. The eighth annual "Local Eats Week" will be held Oct. 22-29.
During the week, local restaurants will each offer a sample plate for under $10 that features primarily Local 6 ingredients. Local 6 refers to products grown, produced, or processed by farms or businesses owned and operated within the six counties touching and including Benton County (Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion and Polk).

Fifteen restaurants are participating: Bellhop, Block 15, Bombs Away Cafe, Castor, Caves Bier and Kitchen, Cirello's Pizza, Cloud & Kelly's Public House, First Alternative Co-Op, Laughing Planet Cafe, Nearly Normal's, New Morning Bakery, Sidecar, Sky High Brewing, Taco Vino and White Wind Superfoods.
In addition to the sample plates, customers have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to one of the restaurants by posting a photo of the sample plate they've ordered on the Local Eats Week 2017 Facebook event page and then tagging the restaurant.
Local Eats Week is organized by the Local 6 Connection, a campaign that encourages local restaurants to source more of their ingredients from the Local 6 area. It is sponsored by the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition's Food Action Team.
