Pigs on the Wing

Portland Pink Floyd tribute band Pigs on the Wing will perform "The Wall" in its entirety Saturday night at the Majestic Theatre in Corvallis.

It can't be easy to match the iconic sound of Pink Floyd, and yet critics and fans alike say Pigs on the Wing is about as close to the real thing as you can get.

The Portland-based tribute band has been performing the music of Roger Waters and company for more than a dozen years, and sometimes has performed complete Floyd albums in concert, including "Dark Side of the Moon."

Pigs on the Wing will dive deeper into the Floyd catalog on Saturday night at the Majestic Theatre when it performs the entirety of the band's 1979 album "The Wall."

A press release from Pigs on the Wing calls "The Wall" "a concept album through and through." The work "follows the madness, isolation, violence and slide into fascism of the fictional character Pink in an intense first person narrative portrayal."

"Famously contentious in its making and mind-blowing in the scale of its live production, 'The Wall' is a piece Pigs on the Wing have circled around for years but only now feel the timing right to produce in its entirety."

In the press release, the band added that the music and lyrical themes in "The Wall" still are timely.

The band consists of Bryan Fairfield, drummer; Jason Baker, vocals and guitar; Eric Welder, bass and vocals; Pete Galluzzo, sax; Keeley St. Clair, vocals; Matt Jones, keyboards and vocals; and David Lindenbaum, guitar and vocals.
