Stephanie Fast, author, teacher and advocate for orphans, will speak at the Nov. 14 "Valley Wide Night of Praise and Worship" event at Life Community Church in Corvallis.

Mid-Valley Women of Christ will host the fall "Valley Wide Night of Praise and Worship" at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at Life Community Church, 4900 NW Highway 99 in Corvallis.

The event concludes 48 classes of Community Bible Studies held in 22 cities across seven counties.

Author, teacher and orphan advocate Stephanie Fast will speak. Abandoned as a child in war-torn South Korea, she was abused in unimaginable ways. Rescued by a World Vision nurse, she was adopted at age 9 by David and Judy Merwin.

Despite the Merwins' healing love, her past tormented her until a personal encounter with Jesus Christ enabled her to give her pain to Him, and see her identity and purpose in the light of God’s love. She has made it her life’s work to help rescue orphans. She recently wrote her first book, "She Is Mine."

The Night of Praise will be led by worship leaders and songwriters Adam and Hannah Smucker. The event is open to all women; a freewill offering will be taken.
