A 65-year-old Corvallis woman accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and smashed into a convenience store on Ninth Street on Monday afternoon.

“Luckily, no one was hurt, so that’s good,” said Lt. Dan Duncan, Corvallis Police Department spokesman.

The driver, Karla Robbins, was cited for careless driving.

Robbins’ Subaru Outback had fairly minor damage, even though it crashed through the front window of the Corvallis Market No. 2, 1550 NW Ninth St., Duncan said.

Store owner Kulwinder Singh said the window would be boarded up, but the market would remain open.

“I don’t want to lose my business,” Singh added.

The Corvallis Fire Department also responded to the crash.
