ALBANY — A former Albany letter carrier was sentenced in Linn County Circuit Court to more than six years in prison on Tuesday morning for pushing his way into an elderly woman’s home last August and groping her.

Daniel Guinn Gray, 49, also will be on probation for nearly four years.

A jury convicted Gray in June of first-degree sex abuse and first-degree burglary.

Prosecutor Ani Yardumian said during the four-day trial that Gray grabbed the recently widowed 75-year-old victim, repeatedly telling her to kiss him.

The woman had bruises on her arms consistent with being grabbed, Yardumian said.

The incident happened Aug. 20 at the Edgewood Mobile Home Park on Mountain View Drive S.E.

The victim moved to another state because she was terrified of staying here, Yardumian said.
