Lebanon High School went into a lockout due to Lebanon Police Department activity in the area on Thursday morning, said Principal Craig Swanson.

“Purely precautionary,” he said. “We lock exterior doors to limit direct access to the building.”

The lockout lasted from about 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. School buses taking students to the Lebanon High School land lab campus continued to operate.

A Lebanon Police Department supervisor initially said that there was no agency activity in the area of Lebanon High School on Thursday morning.

The supervisor, in a second brief interview, said that officers were looking for a suspect in the city, but not necessarily near the high school.

That suspect had not been apprehended as of Thursday afternoon, but the public is in no danger, the supervisor added.
