Gunshot Injury

The Corvallis Police and Corvallis Fire responded to an accidental gunshot wound Friday at the Highland Court apartments.

A 33-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the foot Friday afternoon while unloading his semi-automatic handgun, a Corvallis police sergeant said.

Police responded about 2:30 p.m. to the Highland Court apartments on the 2100 block of Northwest Highland Drive. Medics took the man to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Sgt. Brian Stahl said.

No one else was injured in the incident, he said. Police do not anticipate criminal charges being filed.
